This past weekend we took a trip to winter wonderland to pick out our first chrismas tree! We've been meaning to do this for a couple years now but somehow it never worked out. Since this year is our first official Christmas together after we got married, it was super exciting to finally be able to go pick out and cut down our own tree. The weather worked out perfectly considering there was a snow storm all weekend and everything just looked so magical! There was barely anyone at the christmas tree farm and honestly it couldn't be better. It was so peaceful, all the trees covered with snow and perfect snowflakes falling all around us. I couldn't help but think of how much beauty is all around us, even in the tiniest details. Like how every snowflake has it's own intricate design... And all of this created for us to just simply look at and enjoy! God is so good guys! The almost two hour drive home in a blizzard was a bit scary, but hey it all adds to the adenture. :)
Our first Christmas is already so great this year.. The snow, the preparations, being able to decorate our own little space together. I'm so incredibly grateful for every little detail and every festive moment I can spend with my man! :D
In the midst of all of this, what gives me the greatest joy is that I have a saviour who loves us so much He came to earth to live and die for us. Everything else would be meaningless without HIM. There would be no Christmas without Christ!!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!
Don't forget to take in the beauty of every detail around you, it's there for a reason. :)
