After a long and tiring day of walking all over Verona, Mario decided he still wanted to see the Guisti Gardens. After a bit of walking and getting lost we finally found it. When we got to the park we found out they were about to close in a half hour, and it was pretty much empty. So we explored until we found the steps, and that's where we stopped and Mario told me he is going to set the camera up so we can take a picture together. I took a seat as he adjusted the timer on the camera and as we took our first pictures I was completely unsuspecting of what was coming next.. He turned toward me and then I just knew what was about to happen. He started to tell me how much he loves me and a lot of other sweet things that I don't quite recall because of all the emotions that came over me... and then it happened! He asked me to marry him. And of course I said yes! It was such a special and wonderful moment in such a beautiful place. It was so special being at the Guisti Gardens, just us. I'm really grateful we were able to capture the whole thing unfolding on pictures, especially since both of us don't recall much of this exciting and emotional moment.
I can't believe I get to marry this handsome man in 3 months!!! Thank you so much my love for such a perfect and special moment. Thank you for making all my dreams come true and for wanting me as your wife. I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with you!
First stop on our trip last May was beautiful Verona. We didn't have a set plan on what things we wanted to see, so most of our short time here was spent aimlessly walking around. There is nothing better when you're traveling then just exploring with no checklist of touristy attractions to see. As opposed to the other Italian cities we've been to, Verona still remains somewhat tourist free. Sure there's tourists, but the city is mostly filled with locals. We stayed at a cute little airbnb with a super nice young married couple and their baby.
Verona is a beautiful little city and definitely has it's romantic charm. Of course we had to see Juliet's balcony, the most tourist filled spot in the city. The number one reason why Verona will always hold a special place in my heart is because this is where my love proposed to me! The story and pictures are coming up in the next post! Verona was a great start to a great trip. :)
